I've been listening to this book on CD in the car. Here's the author on YouTube, speaking about the persuasiveness of voice, the psychology of coastal dwellers, and how playfullness enables the writer.
Linera Lucas won the 2007 Crucible Fiction Prize and has had short stories published in Crucible, Boomtown Anthology, Pindeldyboz, VerbSap, VoiceCatcher Anthology and elsewhere. She has an MFA from Queens University of Charlotte and has taught creative writing in Seattle at the University of Washington Women’s Center and at Richard Hugo House.
